After 13 years of being in a province that has Winter, I have developed a very thorough Winter must-have’s list.
Vancouver doesn’t exactly have winter temps. Although most Vancouverites do believe they do. Moving to the maritimes was a bit of a shock to the system. It took me a few years before I started to understand what I would need to get through the long winters comfortably.

1. Home Comfort Items
Blankets
Make your home comfy cozy to get you through Winter with tons of blankets. There is nothing better then curling up with a soft blanket on a stormy night.
I don’t have this exact one. I have one that was hand made for me, but it is so soft and so warm, and I love the way it looks draped across my couch.
This fuzzy blanket is AMAZING! There is nothing better than curling up in this at the end of a long day.
I’m obsessed with this blanket. It has gotten my entire family through so many illnesses, surgeries, and winter nights. It’s my favourite thing ever.
Bedding
I’m fortunate enough that my husband is a built in furnace, so we don’t have to modify our bedding for the winter. I do modify my kids bedding though.
Both of my kids have this. They swear by it and say they love going to bed in a heated cloud.
My son has this heated body pillow. He loves it and enjoys curling up with it on his heated mattress pad.
Flannel Sheets
Flannel Sheets are an absolute must to survive winter. I didn’t buy ours from Amazon so I don’t have a direct link.
2. Personal Must-Have’s
Slippers
I own 3 pairs of slippers as my feet get super cold easily.
Thick Socks
I LIVE in these socks all winter long. I wear them for work, as slippers, and when I have to shovel. They keep my feet toasty warm.
Sweatpants and Cozy PJ’s
3. Outdoor Must-Have’s
If you live in a province or state that’s cold, you need to dress accordingly when you’re outside.
I have 2 pairs of winter boots and 3 different winter jackets: short, mid-length, and long. I also have a ton of mitts, scarfs, and toques.
What are your absolute winter must-have’s that get you through the long winter season? I would love to hear about them in the comment section.
