School is returning, Fall is in the air, and Flu Season is right around the corner! I wrote about what I keep on hand in my cold and flu sick kits, but today I want to touch on my absolute must-haves for how to make yourself feel better when you’re feeling sick.
Absolute must-have’s to get you through being sick:
Heated Blanket
This heated blanket is a bit of a splurge, but worth it. It is not a throw blanket size. It’s the double blanket size, and it is worth the price! This has become my family’s go-to sick blanket and surgery recovery blanket. I had this with my dental surgery in the summer and still used it. I just didn’t plug it in. It’s so comfy and soft.
Blanket Hoodie
This genius product went VIRAL last year. Everyone had it! It’s like your favourite throw blanket being constantly draped over you…. but not falling off you and annoying you! The hood makes me happy as it covers the bulk of my face while I lay on the couch dying while watching reruns.
Kettle
I use this kettle for making tea and Mr. noodles. Honestly, sometimes I’m so ridiculously sick that Mr. Noodle is difficult to make. It is what it is, but this kettle gets me through it.
Tea
I am not a tea drinker, but when I’m sick I crave TAZO Lemon Loaf Desert Delights Tea. It’s so smooth and tastes so yummy. It just makes me feel instantly happy. I keep my teas in this cute little organizer.
Throat Lozenges
Cepacol is my go-to for throat lozenges. My husband loves Fisherman’s friends, but Honey Lemon Cepacol is my absolute must-have when my throat is all scratchy and sore.
Soup
When I’m sick sick, I usually just make Mr. Noodles or Campbells Chicken Noodle Soup. When I have the energy though I make this soup as it instantly heals you! I cannot stress enough how amazing this soup is. It has gotten my family through a handful of colds and flus and a 2-week long hostage situation with covid. You can instantly breath when you eat this soup.
Comfy PJ’s
I don’t have a suggestion for this, but get yourself 2 super comfy PJs. One with pants and one with shorts as you never know where your fevers gonna have you feeling.
Humidifier
If you can’t breathe, you’ll need this Humidifier. I also strongly recommend getting these fishy cleaner things and these vicks pads.
Comfy Socks or Slippers
These Comfy Socks and/or slippers. I prefer socks as they don’t fall off, but when I walk around I like to put my Costco Slippers on.
Bed Tray
This Tray is for eating in bed. This was a game changer for us. It makes being sick or recovering from surgeries so much easier.
Flu season sucks! I am the worst sick person so I had no choice but to compile a list of absolute must-haves for how to make yourself feel better when you’re sick. I hope some of these ideas help you, and if you have any of your own, please let me know in the comment section!
