I rarely go into my baking cupboard during the summer months. Mainly because I don’t bake in the summer. Yet, every September when I get excited to bake, I open the door and find it’s in utter chaos! All organization is lost and it’s a hot mess in there. So instead of baking, I spend the afternoon cleaning and reorganizing it.

First Thing First: Clear Out and Wipe Down The Cupboard.
Take everything out! Wipe the baking cupboard down, throw anything that’s expired out, refill any containers that are running low, etc.

Now put your shelves in. I bought all of my shelves from the Dollar Store. In fact, all of my baking storage items are from the Dollar Store.

Next: Restock The Baking Ingredients.
Now it’s time to stock the cupboard with the ingredients. I buy most of my ingredients in bulk from Costco (you can read more about that here). I purchased bins from the Dollar Store to keep smaller amounts upstairs in my reach.
Things I keep in my baking cupboard:
- All-Purpose Flour
- Whole Wheat Flour
- Sugar
- Brown Sugar (light and dark)
- Icing Sugar
- Oats
- Baking Powder
- Baking Soda
- Vanilla
- Cornstarch
- Coconut
- Raisins
- Spices (Cinnamon, Cream Of Tarter, Cloves, and Nutmeg)
- Nuts (Walnuts, Almonds, and Pecans)
- Chocolate Chips

Lastly: Add Your Baking Supplies.
Now you can add all of your measuring cups, mixers, muffin pans, baking pans, etc. I also keep my cupcake liners, sprinkles, food colouring, and a couple of cake mixes in here.

Now that everything is back in its place, baking will be a breeze!
What are your best tips and tricks for organizing your baking cupboard? I would love to hear about them in the comment section.
